Menopause & Proven Natural Medicine

Rid your body of invading hot flushes

Natural menopause relief can be achieved. For years, women have turned to natural remedies and lifestyles for treating the troublesome symptoms of menopause.

Go straight to clinically proven remedies for menopause.

Whether its HRT, hot flushes, night sweats or progesterone cream, menopause has certainly been in the spotlight a lot lately hasn't it? First there was the big study on HRT from the Women's Health Initiative (WHI) and the link between breast cancer. This study was dropped due to an increase in the number of women developing breast cancer from HRT.

This followed by a huge panic by those women using HRT. They were then told not to panic because they were told researchers in the study panicked prematurely.

This then followed by the most recent research stating that long term use of HRT in fact did increase the risk of breast cancer. This was reasoned by the fact that that breast cancer rates dropped significantly when the use of HRT declined after the study was dropped.

So, what does all this mean, I hear you asking?

Well, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that there

must be some link between the use of synthetic hormones(HRT) and oestrogen sensitive breast cancers.

As I have mentioned before, I don't intend to get into any big discussion about cancer, I am only here to give you my suggestions and interpret data on the latest trials. For more information on causes of hot flushes click here

My Suggestions For Menopause

menopause ebook Like HRT, we need to look at the decline in oestrogen and progesterone as this is why we are getting hot flushes, night sweats and mild depression.

If you don't want a naturopathic view and want to go straight to the clinically proven natural medicines for menopause, click here,

Bio-Identical Oestrogen and Progesterone Cream is my suggestion for natural menopause relief. As I have mentioned before, the fact that the chemical make-up of these creams make them a perfect fit for our own hormone receptors, makes it ideal for replacement. Pro-Gest Progesterone Cream

Emerita's Pro-Gest Cream Paraben Free 2oz
ProGest pictured to your right is my first choice in prescribing Progesterone Therapy. This wonderful cream has been used on many of my patients and we have had terrific results. Because of the emotional symptoms that go along with menopause, some women have stated that it even helped saved their marriage. Please click on the image for more information or to purchase.

Synthetic hormones in HRT, in case you didn't know, are not a perfect fit. If I haven't mentioned before, one HRT prescription named 'Premarin' is taken from the urine of pregnant mares. As a female who may or may not have had children, I'm sure you can sympathise with these poor horses that are put in foal, made to stay in a stall fo the entire gestation while her urine is extracted. I understand after the mare has given birth to her foal, the process starts all over again. This is NOT natural menopause relief.

I don't know about you but my choice for HRT would need to have the following criteria:

- A remedy that stops hot flushes

- One that is natural, i.e from a plant source

- One that is not going to cause me adverse side effects

- One that is not related to any cancers

Let your criteria be your own, it's your body

Diet can play a big part in managing the symptoms of HRT.

Did you know that it is rare for women in Asia to suffer hot

flushes and many of the other menopause symptoms.

It has been hypothesised that this is because of the Asian diet containing many phyto-oestrogens. A phyto-oestrogen is a plant that contains oestrogenic properties. Soy is one of these phyto-oestrogens. Asian diets are high in soy products. Another reason could also be due to a diet low in meat. In case you missed the discussion on xeno-hormones, there are products that can interfere with our production of hormones, and this can include hormone fed meat animals.

Not everyone will agree with my suggestion (or even want to try it) but maybe a vegetarian diet will help those hot flushes without even resorting to any natural medicine.

Vitamins and Minerals

If you feel you are lacking in energy and fatigue is a problem then do supplement with a good vitamin and mineral complex, preferably one with some essential amino acids that will help with the metabolism of hormones and minerals. I highly reccomend the following multivitamin for menopausal women - Food Based Multi-Vitamin Womens

As I strive to give you the best and most educated advice on natural medicines for menopause, I do realize that some of you may not respond to my suggestions. That is why I occassionally suggest to read about alaternative suggestions.

Lifestyle

There are many things you can do with your lifestyle to achieve natural menopause relief.

Clothing is one area where you can prepare yourself. It's a good idea to wear a few different layers that you can peel off if you suddenly have a hot flush.

For night time, there are special pajamas that have been especially developed to help combat this program. Menopausal night sweats can be helped by wearing these pajamas so you're not constantly throwing off the sheets. (this link will open a new window)
