Ulcerative Colitis
Ulcerative colitis can be a painful, debilitating and inconvenient disease which often results in people experimenting with natural medicines. The road of natural medicines does not however, have to be a long and rocky one. Below you will see what natural medicines have been studied and proven to ease the symptoms of ulcerative colitis.
Latest Clinical Trials
Probiotics
There is evidence that using probiotics can ease the dysbiosis of the large intestine thereby reducing relapses.
This will also help reduce the amount of gas and flatulence.

Fish Oil
Evidence is inconsistent for fish oil. Low dose fish oil appears to have no effect on ulcerative colitis.
High doses (4.5g EPA) have shown to reduce the amount of anti-inflammatories needed but doesn't appear to help symptoms.
In Summary
As you can see, probiotics and psyllium are the two most favoured natural treatments for ulcerative colitis.
If you have found a natural treatment that I have not listed here, I would love to hear about it and I'll even do some research on it to see if there has been any studies done.
